Nice square with plenty interesting stuff
Really nice here. Here you can spend your time well.
Nice place. For me the heart of Frankfurt. Unfortunately, events rarely take place here, although it would be the perfect hotspot.
Very nice area
wonderful place, i suggest you to visit once in a lifetime
I visited Frankfurt old city centre on my way back from Tallinn, Estonia so sadly this place never had any chance to compete with Tallinn anyway. Since its European capital of commerce and home to many big names, I always pictured it in my head on par with London, Paris, New York etc but it's more like a big town than a city. Germany has some proper classy beautiful towns but Frankfurt ain't one of them. On plus side, it's very walkable from main station and if you have a long layover at airport like I had, you can easily visit the centre and be back to take your flight in 3 to 4 hours.
Nice place to walk through if you’re in Frankfurt. There is usually a Christmas market there but it was canceled due to COVID so they still put up a Christmas tree.
Incredibly beautiful. Römer, old town hall. It was she who gave the name of the square. The very name "Römer" comes from the central building of the Town Hall, until 1405 Italian merchants stayed there for the night.
Very nice place in a very nice booth.
[Old Town Hall in Frankfurt] Frankfurt’s Old Town Hall has now become an attraction, a place suitable for group travel or free travellers. We visited one month before Christmas in winter. I heard that the Christmas market here is also very spectacular. When we visited, we saw that the market stalls were already set up and set up one after another. I really hope that one day I can come and feel the atmosphere of Christmas in person. The cathedral and the old town hall facing the Roman Forum retain the Gothic architectural style. Christmas flavors prevail, and bookstores and gift shops have successively launched packaged gifts or accessories for pedestrians or tourists to buy. A popular Christmas calendar in Europe and the United States, that is, a countdown calendar, is packaged as a gift box. If you open a calendar every day, you will get a surprise gift. Now Taiwan is gradually becoming popular. The bridge in the past is also a good place to take pictures and check in. Wander around the old buildings and enjoy the romance and leisure, pretending to be in the world of the great writer Goth. It is also a kind of dialogue.
Most beautiful place in Frankfurt. Unfortunately too seldom used for events because of the noise pollution for neighbors. Beggars talk to you here all the time. The weddings are always fun. You could make more of it here, but you probably don't want to.
Beautiful and picturesque German square with a fountain and restaurants, framed by wonderful architecture
Beautiful view. The combination of architecture and light and large space here makes me feel a certain sense of excitement about Christmas holidays.
One of the most beautiful places in Frankfurt when the sun is shining and not too many tourists are walking around or the Christmas market is running.
Visits lonely Bertl without mulled wine
Must visit!, such a beautiful place!
Beautiful and fun landmark to go to.
It's easy to get a feel the typical German atmosphere. Always crowded, there are good places to eat and drink nearby.
Top!
Always worth a visit despite Corona. Today there was even music before the Römer. Otherwise very interesting, weddings from the front row 😊
The square in front of the town hall will transform into a lively Christmas market before Christmas
One of the Best Old town In Germany is this place ❤🏛🏫
This is a great place to explore. In the surrounding square, you’ll see distinctive medieval architecture. Near the town hall, there’s a Tourist Information Centre that you should check-out.
Magical place 😍
I enjoyed it, the schnitzel was good, but it lacked atmosphere and no beer on tap. I wanted to give 3.5, but it wasn't a 4.0
Simply a very special and calming place with the most beautiful houses of Frankfurt history. Fascinating and a must for every visitor to Frankfurt.
Enjoy your view from the opposite restaurant
I think this was the highlight of our trip in Frankfut, beautiful preserved. It’s definitely full of history and gives you nice photo opportunities.During the summer months this place is vibrating with a beutiful energy.
Autumn fair was very relaxed. Little activity, at least in the afternoon. Very good hygiene concept.
Super pretty place. To visit absolutely! Small houses lined up and the square is very beautiful. A pretty fountain with a small statue holding a small scale adds charm to the place. I loved this place in the city of Frankfurt so much! Clean. Nothing to say...
A real highlight. Looks beautiful and so does the newly restored old town. You can spend more than a few hours there drinking a few drops of beer. Recommended and compensates a little for the trauma of the station area ...
It’s a never ending story when you look around Romer. The food stalls, beautiful river on the road side , a ferry ride , lock bridge and some kids activities when you cross the bridge . Over all it’s a wonderful place to spend the weekend with friends and family.
a statue of justice for all, the location is close to the Rhein river and of course a shop by a typical frankurt, in the afternoon ... wow there are lots of bars around this romer
Wonderful old town. I liked it much
Beautiful and clean
Beautiful place to visit when in Frankfurt. Full of interesting facts and history. I would absolutely recommend going there.
The famous square, Roman Square, or as they say it, Romer .. very wonderful and full of cafes, close to the bridge of lovers and the old buildings around it ... Here are a lot of fun times and fun .. The place provides wonderful moments that cannot be missed for everyone who visits Frankfurt
In 1843, the Frauenstein house and the Salzhaus were added. Finally, in 1878 the city bought the Alt-Limpurg house to the right of the Haus Römer for 214,000 marks. The current neogothic front with a balcony was built from 189 more imposing, but mayor Franz Adickes decided against Kaiser Wilhelm's suggestion and had the front designed in a more welcoming manner. At the same time, the houses Frauenrode and Viole were demolished to make way for streets through the city centre. They were replaced by a newly erected building to the east. This new building is divided into two wings by the Braubachstrasse. These two wings (the north wing and south wing) are connected by a bridge. The Frankfurt citizens, who paid their taxes in the north wing, named the covered bridge the Seufzerbrücke (the "Bridge of Sighs") in reference to the other Bridge of Sighs in Venice. The two towers in the south wing attracted nicknames as well: the larger one was called Langer Franz (Tall Franz) in homage to the city's tall mayor and the smaller one the Kleiner Cohen (Small Cohen) after a popular song of the time.
Beautiful place
It was very nice with a lot of cute building very nice for selfies and photos I would advise everyone to go there
Only good thing to see in Frankfurt. Most of the city comprises of glass buildings with highly business outlook. I just also say that this is the only part of town to with good terrace views. Good place for people watching
Frankfurt old Town
Frankfurt is not known as being a beautiful place but this small old city center is really pretty and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. A must seen if you're touring in the city.
What a lively square! Highly recommend this spot.
Amazing.
Always amazing - problem only with many people and not so much privacy- resturant prices are way over the normal rate as well as quality of foods and drinks isn’t matching the price - I would suggest to spend 30 min and go eat some other place for less money and better quality - most of the restaurants don’t accept paying with cards so you should prepare some cash payments only - it’s absolutely worth to visit and spend time there as unique art of frankfurt with amazing atmosphere- place isn’t good for kids playing without supervision as it’s open area but it’s safe enough to walk relax as family since no cars passing - you can reach the place with public transportation easily- the area which is facing the Main is very good for walking and is far of 3 min walking to find as well no cars passing , all buildings is full of different colors and great for pictures in the summer - the place is usually holding the fantastic Christmas market in frankfurt every year - there is a few nice take away shops for drinks and even food these are very worth it to visit once you there enjoy and have fun with Römer frankfurt
Super.
